Your best black leggings ever
Simple enough to wear for work or layer under dresses; functional enough to move in, the Pillar leggings are foundational clothing. Outdoor adventure brand prAna utilise their Chakara® compression fabric here which is tight, supportive and super stretchy. Smooth, yet thick enough to keep you warm and pass the squat test. So far, so essential. It’s also durable and moisture wicking, moving sweat away from your body where it can quickly evaporate and with flatlock seams, there’s no danger of chafing. You can lift in them, climb in them, downward dog in them. Then there’s the look, with a wide, supportive, mid-rise waistband that hits below the belly button and never digs in and ⅞ length that works with anything. These are go-to leggings whether the place you’re going to is the office, the crag or the trail

The need for shorts that offered supreme comfort and mobility was the starting point for PrAna, the California brand founded in 1992 by husband-and-wife team Beaver and Pam Theodosakis. Working out of a small garage in the coastal city of Carlsbad, the duo set out on a journey to make stylish and functional activewear. But there was a higher purpose too – namely, respect for the planet and its people. From the outset, they committed to sustainability and lessening the environmental impact of everything they made.
It was an ethos rooted in the realisation that everything is connected. This concept was encapsulated in the name that Beaver and Pam chose for their brand, prana. It’s a Sanskrit word that literally translates as ‘breath’, but which refers to the universal energy that flows within and among us, connecting us with all other living beings. So, for PrAna, what you wear matters. It matters firstly because clothing that gives you the freedom to move inspires you to chase adventures and stay active. But secondly, it matters because sustainable clothing lessens our impact on the planet. It’s the right thing to do – and the right thing to wear.
